PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery monitor properly detecting an object on the periphery of a vehicle according to a situation on the periphery of the vehicle. SOLUTION: This vehicle periphery monitor performing image processing of a pickup image wherein the periphery of the vehicle is imaged to detect the object includes: an other vehicle detection means 15 detecting presence of another vehicle on the periphery of the vehicle; and a change means 16 changing an image area that is a target of the image processing inside the pickup image according to a detection result of the other vehicle detection means 15.
