The device (4) has a clamping device (5) provided with a multi-phase clamping medium (13). The clamping medium exhibits a gaseous aggregation condition (14) and a liquid aggregation condition (15) within a temperature range from -50 degree Celsius to 80 degree Celsius for clamping the clamping device. The clamping medium comprises a phase transition based on steam pressure, and fluids such as methanol, ethanol, propanol and/or butanol. The clamping medium has catalytically working additives i.e. salts, and is arranged partially within a chamber (12) with a flexible covering (10). An independent claim is also included for a method for fastening a load to an inclined or perpendicular structure i.e. tower.
