Length of the union mounting part exceeds body wall thickness. Union is welded to body outer surface using top and bottom electrodes of contact welding machine. Then conical electrode is fitted inside union for welded joint to be thermally treated by passing the current through union. At the same time, union lower edge is flared due to interaction of said conical electrode with inner walls of union part protruding inside the body by applying force between top and conical electrodes. ^ EFFECT: reliable welded joint between union and body at minimum time for preparing joints for welding with acceptable production cycle time. ^ 4 dwg
