PURPOSE: An image forming apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to collect a remaining developer on surface of a photosensitive member by controlling power applied on a developer unit and charging unit. CONSTITUTION: A power supply unit(80) supplies power to a charging unit and developing unit. The charging unit charges the surface of a photosensitive member(32) on predetermined potential. After the development process of the developer unit, a control unit(70) controls the power applied to among one of the charging unit or developer unit bigger than the power of the development process. Therefore the developer remaining on the surface of photosensitive member is collected to the developer unit due to control of the power.
