FRAME SYNCHRONIZATION METHOD AND RECEIVER FOR COMMUNICATION MODEM THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A frame synchronization method and a receiving apparatus for a communication modem therefore are provided to reduce a sustained correlation operation of a frame synchronizer by sensing a synchronization failure using a correlation value of a de-spreader. CONSTITUTION: A frame synchronizer implements a correlation operation of preamble with recent received data in a state of inputting of each received data(S410). The frame synchronizer decides a location of the maximum value by periodically observing the location of the maximum value of correlation values(S420). The frame synchronizer outputs the synchronized received data and a synchronization signal for periodically informing a start of the frame in a synchronization gaining mode(S430). The frame synchronizer discontinues the successive correlation operation(S440). A de-spreader calculates the correlation values of spreading codes and a synchronized received data row(S450). A comparator compares the maximum value and a critical value among the correlation values(S460).
