<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet folding device capable of storing folded sheets and non-folded sheets in a tray while enabling easy selection as to whether the sheet is subjected to folding processing or not. <P>SOLUTION: This sheet folding device is configured to have a first control mode moving the folding blade means to an operating position from a retracted position, and carrying out the sheet folded by the folding roll means to the stacking means after carrying the sheet in the folding processing passage, and a second control mode moving the front end guide means to the operating position before carrying the sheet in the folding processing passage, and carrying it out to the stacking means without guiding the front end of the carry-in sheet to the folding roll means to be folded.
