Water- and acid-resistant refractory products are formed from a charge comprising 30-75 wt.% insulating material (vermiculite, perlite, hollow silicate or oxide spheres, foam glass or rice husk ash), 30-55 wt.% alkali metal waterglass, 5-14 wt.% phosphate hardener and 2-15 wt.% alkaline earth metal oxide.
