1,026,371. Valves. SOC. POUR L'EQUIPMENT DES INDUSTRIES CHIMIQUES. Jan. 3, 1963 [Jan. 11, 1962], No. 413/63. Heading F2V. [Also in Division B1] An aperture 16 in a gas/liquid contact tray has a vertically movable valve 14, the peripheral edge of the body of the valve being undulated to provide flow passages between the valve and the tray when the valve is resting on the tray. The crests of the undulations may be below (as shown), level with or above the upper surface of the valve body and the valve body may have a flat (as shown), domed or dished upper surface. The valve may be guided by downwardly extending limbs 15 with terminal projections 15a, the limbs 15 cooperating with the edge of the aperture 16 or with a slot in the tray extending from the edge of the aperture 16 or (as shown) spaced therefrom to guide the valve in its vertical movement and the projections 15a with the underface of the tray to limit the upward movement of the valve. In a modification the ends of the limbs 15 may be bent over to provide the travel, limiting projections. The apertures such as 16 may be circular or triangular.
|
