<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst effective for electrochemical oxidation of oxalates, e.g. oxalic acid and its salts, and suitable for e.g. oxalic acid sensors and apparatuses for electrolytic treatment of organic matter in drainage. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst contains a metalloporphyrin of formula (1) (wherein R<SB>1</SB>to R<SB>12</SB>may be the same or different and are each an alkyl group, a substituted phenyl group, a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom; and M is a transition metal of the group 8 or 9) as an effective ingredient. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
