<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating device in which the retention of a coating liquid in a coating liquid pan is reduced, while the precipitation and aggregation of fine particles and pigments contained in the coating liquid are eliminated and a resin, a solvent or the like contained in the coating liquid are dispersed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The coating device includes the coating liquid pan 1 for storing the coating liquid 4, a transferring roll 5 for transferring the coating liquid 4 onto a base material 8, a stirring chamber 13 provided to communicate with the inside of the coating pan 1 on the bottom wall 1a of the coating liquid pan 1, a stirrer 2 arranged in the stirring chamber 13 to stir the coating liquid 4 and a coating liquid circulation means for circulating the coating liquid 4 by discharging the coating liquid 4 in the coating liquid pan 1 from a coating liquid discharge port 12a to the outside of the coating liquid pan 1 and supplying to the stirring chamber 13 from a coating liquid supply port 3.
