PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for opening/closing a folding door, which can prevent the folding door from coming-off even when an impact force is imposed on the folding door. SOLUTION: Pivot hinges 20 and 30 are respectively attached to an upper- and a lower-portions of one door body 11a of the folding doors 10 on the door-tail side. A pivot shaft 22 of the upper pivot hinge 20 is rotatably supported by being inserted into a bearing hole 53 of a retainer 50 fixed on the upside of an opening 1. A lower-end round shank 32b of an adjusting bolt 32 of the lower pivot hinge 30 is rotatably supported by being inserted into a bearing hole 63 of a retainer 60 which is fixed on the downside portion of the opening 1. A hook piece portion 81 is provided at the swing-side end of a swingable engaging plate 80 supported by the retainer 60. The hook 81 is engaged with an engaging groove 32c formed on the round shank 32b for preventing the round shank 32b from coming off upward from the bearing hole 63, so as to become a latch for the folding doors 10.
