PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to reduce power consumption by preventing abnormal operation of a liquid crystal module. CONSTITUTION: An LCD panel displays an image corresponding to data. A DC-DC converter(260) generates driving voltages. The driving voltages are necessary for driving the LCD panel. A system block the supply of power for operating a module and a back light for a pause period. The system supplies data in the pause period. A switching circuit(250) control the output of DC-DC converter according to an input of power for operating the module and the back light unit.
