PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust brightness of an optional area of an observation image without carrying out image processing.
SOLUTION: An observation image is illuminated successively in a time-series fashion with illumination light by spirally vibrating a distal end of an optical fiber periodically. A sequential series of brightness levels is then detected on the basis of reflected light. When extreme dark areas and halation areas exceeds a predetermined permitted proportion in the observation image, light amount is corrected during the next light amount adjustment. During the correction, the amount of illumination light incident is adjusted to be decreased on a scanning position (pixel) having a relatively high luminance level, and to be increased on a scanning position having a relatively low luminance level. By doing so, the illumination light amount is controlled in accordance with each scanning position (each pixel).
COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
|
