<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibrator piece preventing a package for mounting the tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibrator piece thereon from colliding with a vibrating arm even if a shock is applied to the tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibrator piece; and a method of mounting the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibrator piece 10 includes: a tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibrator piece body 16 having a plurality of vibrating arms 14; a short-side part 18 formed along a direction intersecting the longitudinal direction of the tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibrator piece body 16 and connected to the piezoelectric vibrator piece body 16; and a long-side part 20 formed along the longitudinal direction of the tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibrator piece body 16 from the short-side part 18, and having a shock-absorbing part 22. The tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibrator piece further includes a second short-side part formed by being extended along the direction intersecting the longitudinal direction of the tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibrator piece body by arranging the tip of the long-side part ahead of that of the vibrating arm.
