The stiffener (100) has a longitudinal body (2) with two ends (3, 4) equipped with a fixing unit to allow anchoring of the stiffener in an element of a casement at a level of front and rear ends of the casement. One of the ends of the body forms an unfoldable zone (101) between the fixing unit and the body, where the unfoldable zone is located at a level of one of the ends intended to be fixed in the rear end of the casement. The unfoldable zone is in a form of a U-shaped portion of the body, where the body includes joining zones on the element of the casement.
