The arrangement (10) has a cross beam (12) extending between side walls (14) in a transverse direction of a motor vehicle i.e. passenger car, and connected with the side walls in a fixed manner. The cross beam is arranged behind a rear seat system, and runs in an area of an upper edge of a backrest of the rear seat system. A component e.g. head rest and arm rest retainer, of the rear seat system is held at the cross beam. A retaining element for the component is integrated into the cross beam. The retaining element is formed as a single-piece with the cross beam.
