A perforated armor plate includes a plurality of slots extending through a depth of the plate between first and second sides of the plate. Within each slot is at least one web that extends between opposing walls within the slot and extends only partially across the depth of the plate. The slots are angled with respect to the sides of the plate. The slots may be arranged in generally parallel rows across a width of the plate with the webs of adjacent rows of slots offset from each other.
