<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a high-quality image in an electrophoretic display device by efficiently heating. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electrophoretic display device (1) includes a display section (3) which has an electrophoretic element (80) held between a pair of substrates (28, 29) and comprises a plurality of pixels (20). The electrophoretic display device includes a pixel electrode (21) provided in each pixel on one substrate (28) of the pair of substrates, a pixel circuit provided in each pixel on the one substrate and supplying an image signal to the pixel electrode, an adhesive layer (31) provided between the electrophoretic element and the pixel electrode and making the electrophoretic element and the one substrate adhere to each other, and a heating means (350) provided in the underlay side than the pixel electrode on the one substrate and indirectly heating the adhesive layer through the pixel electrode.
