<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion control device of a diesel engine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An ECU (42) calculates an actual heat generating amount H that is a difference between a maximum heat generating amount H1 and an ignition timing heat generating amount H0 based on a heat generation history (S1 to S3), and corrects a ratio of specific heat κ so that the actual heat generating amount H approaches a heat generating amount according to a fuel injection amount to perform combustion control (S4 to S7).
