PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of surely and easily designating a facility on expressway. SOLUTION: A navigating device for searching a route from a departure point to a destination includes: an information storing means (3) where road data are stored; a displaying means (6) displaying a road map made by using the road data; an input means (1) designating a passing facility on the road map; a determining means (4a) determining whether the destination of the passing facility is proper or not when the facility on expressway is designated as a passing facility; and a control means (4b) controlling the guidance processing to the passing facility according to the property of the designation of the passing facility. The determining means determines that the designation of the passing facility is proper when the passing facility exists at the advance direction from the relation between the departure point and the destination.
