<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heavy-load transmission belt reduced in failures such as a break of the belt by preventing a center belt from abrading away even if a friction occurs between the belt and a block in the case of driving with the belt and also capable of reducing generation of heat and deterioration of a resinous material constituting the block. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The heavy load transmission belt 1 is provided with a center belt 3 with a core wire 5 spirally embedded in an elastomer 4 and a plurality of blocks 2 along the longitudinal direction of the center belt 3. A protective member 10 made of a fiber-reinforced resin is arranged on a surface of the center belt 3 abutting against block 2 to thereby protect the center belt 3 from the friction with the block 2.
