The invention relates to an adhesive strip for the bonding of sheeting in the area of a building envelope, with a carrier material and an adhesive coating arranged on the carrier material, wherein the adhesive strip is vapor permeable with a diffusion resistance with an sd value of ≦̸12 m and the carrier material can elongate elastically with a difference value between the percentage of total elongation under loading &egr;g and the percentage of permanent elongation after loading &egr;b in the range of 6-80. The invention also relates to the use of such an adhesive strip for the bonding of sheeting in the outer area in house construction.
