<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily inspect existence of sink for each manufactured lens. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Light is applied to the lens surfaces R1, R2, opposing each other, which an inspection object lens 50 has through an objective lens 18. The return light returned from each surface of the opposing lenses through the objective lens 18 is detected. It is determined whether the lens 50 is non-defective or not based on the time difference between the detection timings of the return light returned from each lens surface through the objective lens 18. The objective lens 18 is arranged at the common portion between the optical path of the light applied to the lens 50 and the optical path of the return light from the lens 50. Thus, the lens 50 can be precisely inspected regardless of the state of the lens surface of the lens 50. As a result, existence of the sink can be easily inspected for each manufactured lens.
