<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damping control device capable of carrying out vibration damping control only when vibration on a spring can effectively be suppressed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Control instructions to carry out a vibration damping control for suppressing vibrations on a spring for a drive 20 which generates a driving force are output to a vibration damping controller 1 by way of vibration damping control compensation torque and a vibration damping control execution flag. That is, provided are an output processor 54 for carrying out outputting according to multiple kinds of control instructions and an abnormality determination section 53 for determining whether vibration damping control is abnormal, based on a plurality of control instructions output from the output processor 54. In determining abnormality, more secure abnormality determination can be made based on such multiple control instructions when vibration damping control is abnormal such as when abnormality occurs in the RAM of an electronic controller 50, resulting in an effect of vibration damping control that cannot be obtained.
