PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device for clamping an outer column to an inner column which is simple in structure and capable of reducing the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: An outer column 1 and a bushing 22 are stopped against rotation to clamp members 8A, 8B by the engagement of engagement projections 83A, 83B with engagement recesses 12A, 12B, 23A, 23B. When the outer column is adjusted in its telescopic position in respect to the inner column 2, the outer column, the clamp members 8A, 8B and the bushing 22 can be allowed to integrally and axially slide. Since the bushing 22 having a low frictional coefficient is present between an inner circumference 13 of the outer column 1 and an outer circumference 25 of the inner column 2, the outer column 1 can be moved with a light force in respect to the inner column 2.
