992,706. Toothed gearing. OLYMPIA WERKE A.G. Sept. 22, 1961 [Nov. 28, 1960], No. 34021/61. Heading F2Q. [Also in Division B6] In an intermittent drive for a power-driven type-writer (see Division B6) a constantly rotating drive pinion 2 meshes with a mutilated pinion, the latter of which comprises a central toothed disc 1 of flexible material, such as "Vulkollan" (Registered Trade Mark), with lateral metallic strengthening discs 7, 8, the disc 1 being provided in the regions of mutilation with arcuate slots 5, 6 to provide resilience and thus reduce shock on engagement of the pinions. The lateral discs 7, 8 are provided with teeth corresponding to those of the central disc 1, but which are only engaged by the teeth of the driving pinion 2 in the event of overloading. |
