<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive fishing rod capable of maintaining effective slip-prevention capability over its whole circumference for a long period of time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A prepreg comprising a reinforcement cloth comprised of a plurality of mutually intersecting fiber bundles 24 impregnated with a synthetic resin, is wound around the grip 18 of a rod 12. The fishing rod 10 has a plurality of level differences which are formed between the fiber bundles 24 and the recessed parts 26 present in between the fiber bundles, and a helical level difference 28 continuously formed on the prepreg.
