<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new morbile terminal and a character display program to be applied to a processor of the mobile terminal, and to provide a mobile terminal and a character display program to be applied to a processor of the mobile terminal capable of easily and accurately performing a character input. <P>SOLUTION: The morbile terminal 10 includes an LCD monitor 28, and the display region of the LCD monitor 28 includes a character display region 44 for displaying a character string showing a mail text and a virtual keyboard display region 46 for displaying a Japanese syllabary virtual keyboard or the like. A touch panel 36 is installed on the upper face of the LCD monitor 28, and the touch panel 36 detects a touch operation to the character display region 44 or the like. Then, it is possible for a user to move the selection position in the virtual keyboard by sliding his or her finger in the character display region 44, and the character key shown by the selection position, that is, the character corresponding to the focused character key is displayed in the character display region 44.
