PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To gain a digital camera equipped with an automatic focus-adjustment device which focuses on an object in a distortion-less area, when a conversion lens is mounted on the camera. SOLUTION: The digital camera is equipped with an automatic focus-detection device, which detects the focus and adjusts the focus by an image of an object which is formed by means of an imaging optical system, and a conversion lens that is mountable/removable on/from a photographic lens of the digital camera concerned. In addition, the automatic focus-adjustment device has a function which detects focus and adjusts the focus on any object in a plurality of positions, including the central area of a photographing screen and its peripheral areas. When the conversion lens is mounted on the imaging optical system, the automatic focus-adjustment device detects the focus on an object, located at the central area of the photographic screen for detecting the focus and adjust the focus on any object.
