PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor improved in performance and reliability by restraining contact loads between balls and an upper race and a lower race when large external force is applied. SOLUTION: This sealed compressor includes a thrust ball bearing 176 having a plurality of balls 166 held to a holder part 168; the upper race 164 and the lower race 170 disposed on the upper and lower sides of the balls 166; and a support member 172 disposed between the lower race 170 and a thrust face 160 and having resilience in a gravity direction. Consequently, even if large external force is applied, the support member 172 is deformed to restrain contact loads between the balls 166 and the upper race 164 and lower race 170 from becoming excessive, and plastic deformation of the thrust ball bearing 176 is prevented to improve performance and reliability.
