PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of improving design of an indoor unit without deteriorating a sucking amount of air, and in addition, capable of improving rigidity of an opening and closing panel. SOLUTION: A length L<SB>1</SB>in a horizontal direction of the opening and closing panel 7 installed on a front face side of an indoor unit body part 2 is formed longer than the length L in the horizontal direction of the indoor unit body part 2. Its both ends are bent to rear face sides to form bent parts 8a, 8b, and it is composed to cover one parts of side faces 4a, 4b of the indoor unit body part 2 by the bent parts 8a, 8b when the opening and closing panel 7 is installed on the front face side of the indoor unit body part 2.
