PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display system for presenting the information of a user's experience with the appropriate timing. SOLUTION: The map display system 1 includes: a map data storage section 24; a POI data storage section 34; an experience data storage section 40 storing experience data including content of experience describing user's experience in text; a terminal position detection section 16 detecting the present position of a terminal device 10 held by the user; a POI data reading section 36 reading POI data on the basis of the position of the terminal device 10; a related experience data retrieval section 42 which compares the descriptive text of the POI read by the POI data reading section 36 with the content of experience stored in the experience data storage section 40, and retrieves related experience data having the degree of similarity equal to or higher than a prescribed threshold value to any of the POI data read by the POI data reading section 36; and a display section 14 displaying the POI data read by the POI data reading section 36 on a map and, further, displaying the related experience data when it exists.
