The device has a heater provided in a region of a sensor (15) or a recess (16) of the sensor. The heater is formed by a heat-conducting contact between the region of the sensor or the recess of the sensor and a partial section (17) of a coolant pipeline. The partial section of the coolant pipeline is arranged in a flow direction of a coolant i.e. cooling water, towards a fuel stack (3) and in front of a cooling heat exchanger (14). The heat-conducting contact is formed by a selective contact of the partial section of the coolant pipeline with the sensor or the recess of the sensor.
