PURPOSE:To maintain pasturizing effect for a long period by preventing the outflow of activated carbon fine particles, by successively arranging particulate activated carbon supporting 100-5,000ppm of silver and fibrous activated carbon supporting 1,700ppm or less of silver. CONSTITUTION:The titled filter and adsorbing unit is constituted of a treated water outflow part 1, a 30-mesh metal net 2, an ACF mat (silver deposited amount of 1,000ppm) 3, 20-mesh crushed activated carbon (silver deposited amount of 700ppm) 4, a 40-mesh metal net 5 and a treating water inflow part 6. An ACF cartridge consisting of an expanded styrol press plate 15, an epoxy resin plate 16 and a vinyl acetate net 17 can be assembled in the unit. Particulate activated carbon is granulated activated carbon prepared from a coconut husk or sawdust as a stock material or crushed coal. As ACF, there is one obtained from a polyacrylonitrile fiber or a phenolic resin fiber as a stock material.
