Method for controlling sensors on a vehicle

The method involves allowing ultrasound sensors (2, 3) to communicate with a central control device (4) via a bus system (5) i.e. local interconnect network (LIN)bus system. A measuring process is independently controlled by the sensors based on data and addresses fixedly loaded in the sensors or by data and addresses loaded in a data phase during initialization of an ultrasonic-based environment detecting system. A trigger impulse is produced to trigger the measuring process by discrete timers in each sensor. An independent claim is also included for a computer program product comprising instructions for performing a method for controlling sensors.
