PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC-AC direct conversion device, capable of selecting 27 kinds of output voltage vectors. SOLUTION: The converter has a virtual input converter forming a first switching function, so as to connect each of a maximum phase, an intermediate phase and a minimum phase in different three input phases of a three-phase AC power supply, in correspondence with each of a terminal P, a terminal O and a terminal N at a virtual DC link, a virtual output inverter forming a second switching function, so as to connect each of the maximum phase, the intermediate phase and the minimum phase which are connected to each of the terminal P, the terminal O and the terminal N, in correspondence with each of different three output phases, and a controller which controls each switch for matrix converters prepared between the three-phase AC power supply and a load, by a switching function obtained by synthesizing the first switching function formed by the virtual input converter, and the second switching function formed by the virtual output inverter.
