<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive standard time radio waves appropriately by simple processing and by determining the frequency of a signal to be received reliably. <P>SOLUTION: A radio controlled watch 10 includes a reception circuit 16 having a tuning circuit for receiving standard time radio waves at a prescribed frequency in standard time radio waves at a plurality of frequencies according to a control signal and a demodulation circuit for demodulating a signal including a time code by demodulating the standard time radio waves. Also, a CPU 20 determines the periodicity of a signal from a solar light generator 31, identifies the frequencies of the standard time radio waves based on the periodicity of the signal, and outputs a control signal to the tuning circuit for receiving standard time radio waves at a prescribed frequency.
