<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing material having a simplified constitution and capable of consistently supporting and packing thin plate-like members 1 and 2 such as car panels in upper and lower two stages in a standing posture. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The packing material includes: an box-shaped exterior case 3; a pair of right and left first resin foam formed products A1 and C2 arranged on a bottom part of the exterior case 3 and equipped with recessed grooves 10 and 20 capable of supporting lower corner parts 1a and 1b of the thin plate-like member 1 on the lower stage to be packed on inner sides of the corner parts; a pair of right and left second resin foam formed products B1 and B2 placed on upper ends of the first resin foam formed products A1 and C2, and provided with recessed grooves 40 and 51 for supporting upper corner parts 1d and 1e of the thin plate-like member 1 on the lower stage, and recessed grooves 41 and 50 for supporting lower corner parts 2e and 2d of the thin plate-like member 2 on the upper stage to be packed in a non-contact state with the thin plate-like member 1 on the lower stage; and a pair of right and left third resin foam formed products C1 and A2 placed on upper ends of the second resin foam formed products B1 and B2 and provided with recessed grooves 70 and 80 capable of supporting upper corner parts 2b and 2a of the thin plate-like member 2 on the upper stage on inner sides of the corner parts.
