<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a very fine amount of a small-sized RNA having a short strand length of ≤200 nucleotides, having a very resembling sequence and contained with a test specimen, a high sensitivity and a high accuracy. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for detecting a small-sized RNA contained in the test specimen by using a selectively bonding substance-immobilized carrier having irregular parts on the carrier surface and immobilizing the selectively bonding substance on the nuchal planes of convex parts of the irregular part includes detecting a small-sized RNA by reacting a labeled body obtained by bonding a labeling material with at least one of the directional terminal of the small-sized RNA or a DNA having a complemental sequence to the small-sized RNA, with the selectively bonding material.
