<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synergistic antimicrobial composition which solves the problem that commercially available antimicrobial compounds have weak activities against certain kinds of microorganisms, and therefore do not effectively control the microorganisms even in high service concentrations. Ž<P>SOLUTION: There are provided a biocide combination useful for preserving wood and having a larger activity than the observed activity of each antimicrobial composition, and the antimicrobial composition containing various antimicrobial compounds.
