An isolator has an elastomeric body 32, a first member 38 for attaching the elastomeric body to a first component and a second member 36 for attaching the elastomeric body to a second component. The elastomeric body 32 defines a first annular void 46 extending into the elastomeric body from one side and a second annular void 44 extending into the elastomeric body from the opposite side. The two voids overlap by a specified distance. Preferably the first and second annular voids 46, 44 encircle only the first member and not the second member, the first annular void extending from the first side to a position beyond a centreline defined midway between the first and second sides and the second annular void extends from the second side to a position beyond the centreline. The first member 38 may comprise a hole extending through the elastomeric body 32. An insert 34 may be provided. |
