There are provided a broadcast processing apparatus (100) and a control method thereof. The apparatus (100) includes a signal receiving unit (10) which receives a broadcast signal modulated in different priorities according to picture quality; a demapping unit (20) which demaps the broadcast signal; an error detection unit (40) which detects an error rate of the demapped broadcast signal; and a controller (50) which controls the demapping unit (20) so that a demapping format of the broadcast signal can be changed based on the detected error rate.
