PURPOSE: A clincher for a stapler is provided to perform filing by bending legs of a staple corresponding to each crown width even if each crown width is different from the other. CONSTITUTION: A stapler clincher(3) comprises a first and a second clincher(5,6) and a driving tool(7). The first clincher is arranged at the lower parts of both legs(2) of staples(S1,S2). Oblique guide surfaces(12) of the first clincher bend their both legs inwards. The projection(15) of the second clincher presses the leading ends of the bent legs to the surface of paper(P). After the leg of the staple is bent by the oblique guide surface, the driving tool moves back the first clincher along the paper surface and operates the second clincher toward the paper surface.
