PURPOSE: An image display apparatus and a method for controlling the same are provided to guide each step of the operation of the image display apparatus for a user. CONSTITUTION: High-definition multimedia interface(HDMI) receiving unit(230) receives image signal from an external device. A video processing unit(220) processes the image signal from the HDMI receiving unit. A display unit(210) outputs the image signal. A control unit(260) displays a user interface which includes information related to the receiving state of the image signal or information related to the image signal output from the display unit. |
