PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide radio equipment capable of improving communication efficiency in bidirectional radio communication. SOLUTION: When a mobile terminal M performs bidirectional radio communication with an access point AP using a direct link, a repeater R measures a total transmission time t1 required for the bidirectional radio communication between the mobile terminal M and the access point AP using the direct link, and a total transmission time t<SB>NC1</SB>consumed in bidirectional radio communication between the mobile terminal M and the access point AP via the repeater itself. If the total transmission time t<SB>NC1</SB>is shorter than the total transmission time t1, the repeater R notifies the mobile terminal M and the access point AP of a transmission rate r<SB>MR</SB>between the mobile terminal M and itself and a transmission rate r<SB>RAP</SB>between itself and the access point AP.
