<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high speed electrophotographic apparatus which has always stable electrophotographic properties and extremely excellent image quality and whose cycle time is reduced. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic apparatus at least comprising: an electrophotographic photoreceptor; a charging means; an exposure means; a developing means; a transferring means; and a pre-exposure means, the cycle time of the electrophotographic apparatus is 0.2 to 0.4 s/cycle, also, the electrophotographic photoreceptor has a laminated constitution obtained by providing an electroconductive support with a conductive layer, an intermediate layer and a photosensitive layer, the conductive layer comprises metal oxide particles and a phenol resin, also, the volume resistivity of the conductive layer is 1.0×10<SP>7</SP>to 1.0×10<SP>11</SP>Ωcm, also, the ten-point average roughness Rz of the surface in the conductive layer is 0.5 to 1.0 μm, also, the film thickness of the intermediate layer is 0.1 to 2 μm, and also, the contact angle to water after the application and drying of the intermediate layer is 50 to 65 degrees.
