<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for three-dimensional measurement which enable high-precision three-dimensional measurement of a workpiece. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The three-dimensional measurement system 1 uses a robot 2 to move a noncontact three-dimensional measuring instrument 4 for three-dimensionally measuring shape of the workpiece 5. The behavior of the robot 2 previously-controlled based on robot coordinate data is actually measured by a robot measuring device 14, and a data processor 12 compares the robot measured data with the robot coordinate data to compute and prepare a correction model for correcting the robot coordinate data. Further, in measurement of the workpiece 5, the robot 2 controlled based on the robot coordinate data is synchronized with the three-dimensional measuring instrument 4 to three-dimensionally measure the workpiece 5, correct the robot coordinate data by the correction model. Thus the data processor 12 integrates this compensated robot coordinate data and three-dimensional measurement coordinate data measured by the three-dimensional measuring instrument 4 and outputs them to an output unit 13 through optional coordinates.
