<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a penetration type wire chuck stabilizing a positioning state with a wire being hardly slipped, and suitably maintaining a holding force over a long period of time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The penetration type wire chuck 10 includes: a body 30 having an irregular diameter hole 20 formed through; a sleeve 40 stored in the irregular diameter hole 20 with a wire 5 being inserted to a wire insert hole 41 in such a manner as to be capable of advancing and recessing; a gear 60 supported by the sleeve 40; and a biasing means such as a coil spring 70 disposed within the body 30 to bias the sleeve 40 toward the minor diameter side of the irregular diameter hole 20. The wire 5 is fixed within the sleeve 40 by pressing the gear 60 between the wire 5 inserted to the sleeve 40 and the irregular diameter hole 20. Teeth having a crest-trough shaped section which are formed on the circumferential surface of the gear 60 are bitten into the wire 5, whereby a high holding force is exhibited.
