<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system of reporting the status of a bed whose occupant is at risk of an undesired event. <P>SOLUTION: The bed 12 includes a Patient Position Monitoring (PPM) system 60, which is used in an armed state when it is desired to monitor the position and/or activity of the bed occupant. At least one lamp module 42 to signify a satisfactory status or an unsatisfactory status of the bed 12 is fixed. When the PPM system 60 may be armed and also a safety device with respect to the risk of falling is valid, the lamp module 42 is turned on by the first method, so as to signify that the bed 12 is in the satisfactory status. When the PPM system 60 may be armed and also the safety device with respect to the risk of falling is not valid, the lamp module 42 is turned on by the second method, so as to signify that the bed 12 is in the unsatisfactory status. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
