PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical unit capable of effectively using an area other than an area through which luminous flux from a subject passes, and achieving miniaturization. SOLUTION: The optical unit 3 includes: an imaging optical part A formed to have image pickup lenses 17a to 19a in a layering direction S of optical components 7, 8 and 17 to 19 in a first area 61 of the optical unit 3 in a plan view where the optical unit 3 is viewed from above; and an illumination optical part B formed to have illumination lenses 18b and 19b in the layering direction S in a second area 62 kept away from the imaging optical part A in the plan view where the optical unit 3 is viewed from above.
